I attended the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME), Asia Pacific's largest business events exhibition and learning platform, and this year did not disappoint. With more than 1,500 vetted buyers, over 5,000 attendees, and 750-plus exhibitors from 36 countries Smart Meetings, the energy in the room was electric.
Before the business kicked off, the Welcome Event set the tone beautifully, white theme, great food, drinks, and entertainment that brought the community together in the best possible way. It was the perfect reminder that at the heart of this industry are real people who genuinely love what they do.
From the trade floor to the knowledge sessions, AIME delivered on every level. New connections, fresh inspirations, and a renewed excitement for the road ahead.
If it's not already in your calendar for next year, it should be!

I had the opportunity to attend the Australian Event Awards and Symposium, and am grateful for the valuable connections made over the 3 days in Coffs Harbour. With so many insights and inspiring takeaways.
A standout for me was the Sustainability session, an area I’m deeply passionate about. Great insights from the team at EarthCheck, discussing the practical steps for embedding sustainability into the event management process, discovering budget-friendly initiatives to long-term operational strategies and driving meaningful change to make a positive impact.

I’m passionate about producing destination events for a unique experience, taking the attendees out of the major cities. Therefore, I’d personally explore the region first and see what it has to offer for potential events. Click on the source link to see fun facts about the Coffs Coast!

I took the step of joining The Australian Business Events Association (ABEA), and it's already shaping up to be one of the best professional decisions I've made. From the moment I came on board, the welcome I received was nothing short of warm, the kind that reminds you why you chose this industry in the first place.
What's struck me most is the generosity of everyone I've encountered. In an industry that moves as fast as ours, people could easily guard their insights and hard-earned knowledge. Instead, I've found the opposite, peers who are genuinely willing to share, support, and lift each other up. Conversations have flowed easily, advice has been offered freely, and connections have been made that already feel meaningful.
Being part of ABEA isn't just about adding a membership to my profile. It's about being part of a community that takes the business events industry seriously, one that values professional growth, collaboration, and the collective elevation of our craft.
I'm looking forward to continuing to learn, contribute, and grow alongside some truly remarkable people in this space.

I've always been more comfortable working behind the scenes, coordinating the moving parts, managing the run sheets, and making sure every event lands exactly as it should. So when I was invited to step in front of the stage at the Overseas Vietnamese (OV) flagship event, it felt like a whole new kind of challenge for me. My first public speaking experience.
This time, I wasn't delivering the event. I was addressing it.
Speaking on the topic of Entrepreneur and Intrapreneur, I had the chance to share my perspective on what it means to build something. Whether that's your own venture or driving innovation from within an organisation. It's a topic close to my heart, because in many ways, event management sits right at the intersection of both worlds.
Being part of the OV community conversation was a reminder that the skills we build behind the scenes, problem-solving, leadership, and the ability to execute under pressure, are exactly the kind of stories worth sharing.
Here's to firsts. And to many more conversations to come.

The Australian Business Events Association (ABEA) Member Round Table was a wonderful opportunity to hear what is happening across our network nationally.
Followed by our quarterly Social Connect at the Harry the Hirer showroom, always a great mix of familiar faces and new connections.
